Woman Arrested and Charged in Ingleside Stabbing

Woman Arrested for Attack in Ingleside Forest Preserve

(Ingleside, IL) An Ingleside woman has been arrested for what’s being called a random attack. Authorities say Marquette Owens was taken into custody shortly after the Monday evening incident in the Grant Woods Forest Preserve. Police alleged that Owens stabbed a woman several times in front of her young child, before fleeing on foot. The victim was able to flag down help and was hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries…the child was unhurt. The 60-year-old Owens is now facing charges of attempted murder and aggravated battery. Her bond was set at 750-thousand-dollars.

Identities Released in Fox Lake High Speed Chase Crash

(Waukegan, IL) The Lake County Coroner’s Office has released the names of two people killed in a high speed chase that started in Wisconsin and ended in Lake County. Officials say the driver, 28-year-old Theopolis Owens, of Chicago, died of blunt force injuries from the crash. One of his passengers, 18-year-old Kayla Crews, of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin also died of blunt force injuries. Another female passenger was seriously injured in the Sunday night incident. The whole situation remains under investigation by several agencies including Fox Lake Police and the Lake County Sheriff’s Major Crash Assistance Team.

Park City Shooting Victim Identified

(Waukegan, IL) The victim of a shooting in Park City has been identified. Lake County Coroner’s officials say Noah Quigley, of Park City died of injuries received from a gunshot. The 22-year-old was discovered near Teske and Kehm Boulevards just before midnight Monday, and was pronounced dead a short time later. There have been no arrests announced in connection with the shooting. The incident remains under investigation by Park City Police and the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force.

Lake Villa Woman Arrested for License Issue, Outstanding Warrants

(Waukegan, IL) A Lake Villa woman that was arrested on a traffic violation, is now sitting behind bars. Lake County Sheriff’s officials say Valerie Carey was stopped on October 15th for driving on a suspended license near Gurnee. Authorities ran the 49-year-old’s information, which showed outstanding warrants from Wisconsin for failing to register as a sex offender, and a parole violation. Carey was transported to the Lake County Jail, where bond was set at 1-million-dollars. She’s due in court next week.

Waukegan Discussion About Recreational Marijuana

(Waukegan, IL) The City of Waukegan will jump into the discussion phase next week, over Illinois’s new recreational marijuana law. The city’s Planning and Zoning Department will host the discussion next Wednesday regarding zoning regulations in connection with the law that goes into effect in the new year. Under the plan, Illinois municipalities can choose whether or not to allow sales within their borders. Even if an individual town denies sales…residents of those towns will still be able to possess a certain quantity of recreational cannabis.
