(Woodstock, IL) A North Chicago man has been arrested for his alleged involvement in a shooting last year in McHenry. Davontae Newkum of North Chicago is facing charges of aggravated discharge of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon and more stemming from the August 2021 incident in McHenry. Police said at the time that occupants of two vehicles opened fire on each other at an intersection, spraying over 50 bullets. No one was injured. Two others, Deontae Wade and Dante Terrell Jr. (both of Zion) face attempted murder and other charges from the same case. All three are being housed in the McHenry County Jail.
