McHenry County Deputies on Leave After Port Barrington Police-Involved Shooting

(Port Barrington, IL)  Little new information has been released about a police-involved shooting that left one person dead in McHenry County. A domestic violence call around 1:30 Tuesday morning prompted McHenry County Sheriff’s Deputies to a residence in Port Barrington. When they arrived, they approached a woman who was outside…that’s when a male opened fire. Deputies returned fire killing the man, who has not been identified. The woman suffered a graze wound and was taken to a Libertyville hospital. The deputies, one with 1-year of experience, and the other with 5-and-a-half years, were unhurt, but placed on administrative leave while the investigation is ongoing.
