(Waukegan, IL) A man accused of injuring a Lake County special needs child a couple years back, has avoided jail time. Nicholas Izquierdo entered an Alford Plea to one count of misdemeanor child endangerment, stemming from an incident back in 2019. An Alford Plea means the suspect maintains his innocence, but admits that there is likely enough evidence for a conviction. The 32-year-old was sentenced to one year of supervision, along with community service. Izquierdo is also not allowed to have unsupervised time with minors for the duration of his supervision period.
