(Waukegan, IL) Lake County Sheriff’s officials say their newest police K9 made a pair of assists over a 24-hour span last week. K9 Ryker and Deputy Craig Somerville were dispatched to an area near Gurnee last Thursday evening to track a man that fled from authorities. Ryker performed a track and 52-year-old Antonio Hurtado was captured and charged with domestic battery and resisting arrest. On Friday Deputy Somerville and Ryker were called to the Wadsworth area after a man fled from a vehicle that was believed stolen. A successful track led to the suspect, who was taken into custody, but has not been identified.
