(Chicago, IL) Despite increases in states across the country, Illinois continues to have the highest gas prices in the Midwest, and anywhere east of the Rocky Mountains. AAA says the average gallon of gas in the state costs $3.41, 22-cents higher than the national average. Lake County comes in a few cents lower at $3.37. In Wisconsin, gas prices average $3.02, 17-cents lower than the national average. Kenosha County prices remain a bit higher at $3.06.
