Illinois AG Appeals School Mask Mandate to Illinois Supreme Court

(Springfield, IL)  As expected, the Illinois Attorney General has appealed a decision that invalidated the Governor’s school masking mandate. Kwame Raoul has asked the Illinois Supreme Court to reverse an appellate court ruling, which said Governor JB Pritzker’s emergency rules expired earlier this month…it also seeks to do away with a downstate Judge’s ruling that school mask mandates were a government overreach. Governor Pritzker has claimed over the last week that despite the rulings, his school mandate remains in place. Despite that, most state schools have done away with required face coverings…and have moved to a mask optional learning environment.
