(Springfield, IL) Governor JB Pritzker could announce today when indoor masking rules will be relaxed in Illinois. Several states that still had the mandates have announced their end in the last couple of days, as the latest wave of Covid-19 continues to wane. The issue is complicated by school masking rules. Last week, an Illinois Judge issued a temporary restraining order against the Governor’s emergency rule requiring all students and staff to have face coverings. The ruling has led to parent and student protests both for and against the mandates. Pritzker has never laid out metrics for which school masking would become a thing of the past.
