(Chicago, IL) While gas prices have been increasing for over a year now, last week saw the biggest spike in a long time. AAA says the average gallon of gas in Illinois sits at $4.57…a 55-cent jump over prices at this point last week…and 26-cents higher than the national average. Lake County saw a 51-cent jump in prices, and is currently averaging $4.54. In Wisconsin, prices remain lower, but have eclipsed the 4-dollar mark at $4.03…that’s a 58-cent jump over last week, but 28-cents below the national average. Kenosha County comes in at $4.05 on average, 60-cents higher than this point last week.
