Fires at Kildeer Home, Grayslake Apartment Building, Leave Several Displaced

(Kildeer, IL)  A fire in Kildeer left a home with significant damage. The blaze broke out just after 5 o’clock Wednesday evening in the 21-thousand block of Meadowlark Lane. Fire officials say some 15 local units responded to the fully engulfed two story home, but that they were able to put flames out. There were no injuries. The home was considered uninhabitable, though no official damage estimate was released. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

(Grayslake, IL)  An apartment building fire in Grayslake left several people without a residence for the time being. The blaze was called in just before 6 o’clock Wednesday evening from the 1-hundred block of Glen Street. 14 total fire departments responded to the blaze, getting things under control in just under an hour. One building resident suffered minor injuries and was treated on scene. In total, 7 apartments were deemed uninhabitable due to fire, smoke and water damage. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
