(Waukegan, IL) Coronavirus cases dropped in Lake County on Tuesday, while most other metrics stayed relatively unchanged. Illinois health officials announced 100 new cases, with no new fatalities. Hospitalizations in the Lake and McHenry County area remained flat, while available ICU capacity sits at 22%. Around 416-thousand residents, or just under 60% of the Lake County population is considered fully vaccinated. Numbers for those ages 5 to 11, who just gained approval for low dose shots, are not yet available.
