Autopsy Confirms Body Pulled from Des Plaines River was Missing Antioch Man

(Waukegan, IL)  An official identification has been made on a body pulled from the Des Plaines River near Libertyville. Lake County Coroner’s officials say the body was indeed that of Thomas Howe, an Antioch resident that went missing after a traffic crash on January 22nd. A kayaker had reported finding Howe’s jacket on the river shoreline last Friday, but the 24-year-old’s body wasn’t recovered until Tuesday afternoon. An autopsy was said to show signs consistent with drowning, but Coroner’s officials say further testing will take place throughout the coming weeks to determine an official cause of death. Lake County Sheriff’s officials are assisting in the ongoing investigation.
