Arraignment Pushed Back Again for North Chicago Woman Accused of Killing Son

(Waukegan, IL)  A woman accused of murdering her own son in North Chicago, has had her arraignment delayed for a second time. Jannie Perry is facing a 19-count felony indictment in the late December death of 6-year-old Damari Perry. She, along with another one of her sons, Jeremiah Perry, are accused of punishing the boy by forcing him into a cold shower for an extended period of time. After his death, the pair are accused of transporting the body to Gary, Indiana, where it was found outside of an abandoned home in early January. Jannie Perry was supposed to be arraigned on Monday, but that was delayed until Wednesday, when it was delayed again until February 14th. Jeremiah Perry has pleaded not guilty, and is due back in court in March.
